Last years champions of the Grand Championship University Open at the British Cheerleading Association’s international championships (take a breath if you read that outloud was Rangsit University’s team based right here in Bangkok. This year they are looking to do it again, but first they have some obstacles in their way.

The 21 cheerleaders in the team have put in 6 hard months of work so far, and have just hoped on a plane for Tokyo earlier this morning. They are headed there completely determined and hopeful that they will win the second annual Asian International Open Cheerleading Championships.

They’ve got a tough battle against them though. Teams from Japan and Taiwan have been known to be fierce competitors, so Rangsit’s team isn’t getting ahead of themselves even with their major championship wins supporting them.

If they win, they will be headed to Germany later in the year for another shot at the world championship.

Potato is one very popular band in Thailand. When I ask my farang friends if they listen to Thai music and if so, which bands, most of them have Potato at the top of their list. To Thais, Potato is held high in their eyes amongst main stream Thai rock bands.

This song, Arom See Tao (Grey Mood), is obviously about a pretty heartbroken guy. He still loves his ex, but she’s had a change of heart and possibly has a new boyfriend. No matter what, this man will still wait for her though, until the end of the world.

Dek-D.com is basically a Thai version of other popular social networks found in any other country (Facebook or Myspace for example). They like to sit down together with some of the Thai all-stars of acting and music, and broadcast live chats with some of the countries favorites.

A couple days ago, Dek-D.com had the chance to interview two of the biggest pop stars in all of Thailand. Four-Mod, the cute, bubbly tech-pop couple are synonymous in any Thai’s mind. Their lyrics are adorable and catchy, and play with sounds most other artists don’t go to, balancing it with cute visuals in their music videos.

I was chatting with my friend online, and we got on the topic about this website. I told him that we mostly just post pictures of cute Thai girls and guys, but we will cover other topics like Thai fashion and Thai celebrities. He then sent me a picture of a girl he thought would be great for a post, but I was sad when he told me he only had this one pic and has no idea who this girl is.

I had no clue after looking at her for a little while, so I got on MSN and asked a few of my Thai friends. I got a lot of different answers.

“Oh, that’s Happy.” or “I know her. Her name is Prez.” “No, no, no. That is Ice.”

So, basically, I have no answers, yet. I’ll run a little contest then. Whoever can tell me who this girl is, with links to prove it, I will give you $10 (via paypal). Fai is a cute girl, with an absolutely adorable smile. These younger Thai girls really know how to look cute when taking pictures. I know a goal they try to take is to make themselves look as white as possible, as dark skin isn’t considered very beautiful in Thailand. Either way, you just can’t ignore the cuteness shinning from Fai’s face.

Also, you can see she is wearing braces. Young thai girls like to ear braces, even fake ones, because they think it makes them cuter. I agree for some it might be cuter, but I think that dentists shouldn’t be wasting their time making them for patients that don’t need them, especially in a country where some of the poorer areas and people could use dental care.
